How Long Could You Make It Without a Paycheck?

Chances are you never really thought about the answer to this question, but in today’s economic times, it’s something you need to think about and strongly consider. As you are fully aware the mortgage company, bank, and creditor(s) do not want to here I’m not able to make my payment this month because… I haven’t been able to go to work for the past 5 weeks due to a terrible car accident I was in 5 weeks ago. I’ve been in and out of the hospital taking care of my…

Yes, a valid reason for not going to work for the past 5 weeks but regardless each creditor only wants one thing, to get paid every month on time, period. In the creditors eyes all excuse are equal if they keep you from meeting your monthly payment obligations.

DI- (Disability insurance) protests your most valuable asset you and your ability to earn an income! It insures your ability to still be able to provide for yourself, your loved ones, & your family. DI plans come in two forms. The 1st and most desired plan is what we call CDI – (Complete Disability Insurance) the 2nd type of DI is called ADI – (Accidental Disability Insurance).

CDI is the most desired form of the two types because it will pay out in the event of an accident or health related incident. Regardless of the reason you are not able to go to work this plan will pay a benefit. Depending on how you structure your plan will determine the amount of benefit you will receive each month and for how long you will receive that benefit.

ADI is the 2nd type of insurance you can be protected by. This type of insurance is what we call limited DI coverage because it will only pay a benefit in the event of an accident. If you were to go out of work due to a health related issue this plan will not pay a benefit. I do not discount this coverage as not being valuable because you never know what might happen.

Disability insurance can be your solution to your answer from the title of this article, “How long could you make it without a pay check?” Answer: As long as it takes to get you healthy enough to get back to work. By setting up your DI plan today you can be assured your loved ones will not suffer. Remember, all insurances are usually not about you, most of the time they are for the people you love. Many blessing to you and your loved ones!

God Bless everyone,

Sean McCullough.
